PTE Exam Preparation
Best way to prepare for PTE (Pearson Test in English)?
Do you want to achieve high score in PTE Academic exam?
PTE Exam Preparation
how to get your desired score in the shortest possible time, by spending the least amount of money.
Step 1: Know the score you want ( PTE Exam Preparation )
How much you need to prepare, depends on the score you need. For example, if you need a score of 79+ you may need to put in more preparation than if you need a score of 65+.
Step 2: Take the official mock test: ( PTE Exam Preparation )
Pearson has been kind enough to offer scored online mock tests for the PTE Academic. The official Pearson mock test available here can be taken from home over the internet. You receive scored results similar to what you would receive in the actual exam, which is the best part. This eliminates the guesswork on how good your English is and gives you a true picture of where you currently stand.
Taking this test is highly recommended, as it is as close you can get to the actual PTE exam, at a fraction of the cost. It makes sense to take this mock test and know where you stand. Remember that each attempt for the real PTE Exam costs between $200 to $300. The best and most economical scenario is to pass the test in the first attempt. If this is not possible, you want to at least ensure you keep the number of attempts to the minimum.
You might be thinking:
My English is pretty good, why don’t I just take the exam in the first place and skip the mock test?
Here’s the thing:
Even though you may have good English, some of the questions like the ‘Retell lecture’ in the Speaking section or ‘Reorder Paragraph’ in the reading section can leave even the most proficient of English speakers scratching their heads when they encounter it for the first time. When you encounter these questions via the mock tests it prepares you for what to expect in the exam.
You also do not want to be the one who spends months preparing for the exam when you didn’t need to do so in the first place. You could have simply taken the exam, got your desired score and moved on with your Visa application(or other activities)
Now that you understand the importance of taking the mock test, the next question is, how much should you prepare before taking the mock test?
The answer is:
Not much. If you purchased the Silver or Gold kit(I got this one as I needed 79+) there are a few sample questions that you get along with it that you can do before taking the mock test. Remember, the point of the first mock test is to know if you need to prepare and if yes, how much you need to prepare.
